Summer 2019 dancing. The NY Branch will be dancing informally on Thursdays from June 27th through August 22 (excluding July 4), 7:30pm-10:00pm. These are drop-in sessions focused on doing dances and will include limited basic instruction, so they are open only to dancers who already have some country dance experience (such as English, contra, or square dance). Location is the regular class site (St. Bart's). Brand-new dancers are welcome to join us for the next basic class series starting September 12.
New York Branch classes are held weekly in Manhattan on Thursday evenings (7:30pm-10:00pm) during the fall, winter, and spring. RSCDS affiliate group Scotia Dancers holds classes in Manhattan on Monday evenings and there is a Brooklyn class on Tuesday evenings. Please see our links page for other nearby SCD groups.
Check out the Frequently Asked Questions for more info on Scottish country dancing, what to wear, and what to expect from your first class.
